08 / Plan protection alongside the shipment

Make cargo protection part of the journey.

Request cargo insurance alongside your shipment quote in the Flaminglobe platform. Review the proposed cover and cost before you decide, with the policy connected to the booked goods and route. We coordinate with the appropriate insurance provider; cover starts only when the provider confirms the required acceptance and issuance.

Why it helps

Built around the outcome you need.

Protection considered before departure

Insurance is easier to assess when the cargo value, packing, transport and delivery scope are clear. We help organise that information early and connect you with the relevant provider so the proposed protection can be reviewed before the movement starts.

Understand what the policy actually covers

A policy needs to match the agreed goods and journey. We help keep the quotation, insured value, exclusions and any deductible visible, so cargo insurance is a deliberate choice rather than an assumption hidden inside the freight price.

A more organised response to a problem

If loss or damage is reported, the shipment record becomes useful evidence. Our AI powered document workflow helps our team organise the available records and outstanding requests, while the insurer or authorised intermediary directs the claim process.

What’s included

What we take care of.

A clear scope, a practical plan and a team following the work through. Here is how this service fits your shipment.

01

Shipment and insurance requirement review

We collect the cargo description, value, packing and movement details needed to discuss cover. The origin, destination, transport modes and any storage are identified so the insurance provider can assess the actual journey rather than a generic freight description.

02

Access to suitable insurance providers

We help arrange a quotation through the appropriate insurer or authorised intermediary for eligible shipments. We make the provider and arrangement clear. Availability, acceptance, policy terms and premium are confirmed by that provider before cover is placed.

03

Policy and shipment record organisation

We keep the issued policy or certificate connected to the shipment alongside the relevant invoice, packing list and transport documents. AI powered checks help our team identify missing reference details for review, without changing the insurer’s terms or deciding coverage.

04

Claim-document coordination

When an incident is reported, we help gather the available shipment documents, delivery records, photographs and other requested evidence. The insurer or intermediary confirms notification requirements, assessment and next steps; claim acceptance and settlement remain with the responsible provider.

Make it practical

Review protection before pickup.

An importer selects insurance while preparing its door-to-door quote on the platform. The provider reviews goods moving by sea and then by road, including any planned storage.

Match cover to the actual journey.

A cargo-insurance request should describe the goods and every transport leg you want considered.

Our role

We help prepare the request and coordinate the cover documentation with the appropriate provider. Cover starts only as stated in the issued policy.

This sample is not an insurance quotation or confirmation of cover. Actual protection depends on the issued policy. Interactive examples use fixed sample information.

How we get there

Start on the platform. Follow every next step.

Consider insurance while quoting and booking, before supplier pickup. It is optional and provider-approved; selecting it on the platform does not by itself put cover in place.

01

Request cover with your platform quote

Add insurance to the services you want to review and enter the cargo value, product, packing and complete route, including storage where relevant. We pass the required information to the appropriate provider for assessment of the actual journey.

02

Review the terms and confirm the cover

Review the provider’s quotation, covered journey, exclusions, limits, deductible and premium. Complete the required acceptance steps through the stated process. Your freight booking and insurance request are separate: cover is only active once the provider confirms issuance and its start.

03

Keep the policy with the booked shipment

View the issued policy or certificate with your shipment records on the platform. If loss or damage is reported, follow the policy’s notification process promptly. Our team helps gather the available documents and delivery evidence for the provider.

What you’ll have in hand

  • A documented insurance enquiry based on the shipment
  • Provider quotation and policy information for your review
  • The issued certificate or policy linked to the shipment when purchased
  • An organised handover of available evidence if a claim is notified

What we’ll need from you

  • Goods description, declared value and commercial invoice
  • Origin, destination, transport modes and storage arrangements
  • Packing information and any known special risks
  • Existing insurance details and the party requesting cover

A few useful answers

Before we start.

Something specific to your goods or route?

Ask our team
Is insurance active when I select it on the platform?
No. Selecting insurance requests the option for review. The provider must assess the shipment, confirm the terms and complete the required acceptance and issuance steps before cover is in place. Check the issued policy and its start date; a freight booking alone does not confirm insurance.
Does Flaminglobe underwrite the insurance?
No. Insurance is provided by the relevant insurer and arranged through the appropriate authorised parties where required. We help connect the shipment information and service arrangement. The policy identifies the provider, cover, exclusions and responsibilities.
Does the policy cover every loss or delivery delay?
You must check the actual policy. Coverage, exclusions, limits and claim conditions vary with the goods, route and provider. A broad coverage description is not a promise that every event is insured; the insurance provider explains the terms for your shipment.
